Come & join us for this guided clay workshop where we will help you create your own Fairy House Lantern from a lump of earthenware clay. Choose a summer, Autumn or Christmas theme from our wide range of mould & rolling pin options. Will yours be sweet or spooky?

Enjoy using our extensive range of tools, cutters, textured rolling pins & moulds to create your brilliant designs.

You have the option of turning yours into a lantern if you’d like to light up your little house for display on those cosy evenings. We will have samples to inspire you so that you can choose your project theme. Full instructions & guidance will be given during the session along with advice on adding the finishing touches. Hand-made pottery has a beautiful organic feel to it. Make something to be proud of or gift it to someone you love.

The session allows for two hours of creating and relaxing. Your finished piece will be left with us for approx 3 weeks so that it can dry before the first bisque firing. After that, you can either return to paint yours at our studio at a time that suits you, this ensures a superior finish and the second kiln firing makes sure that the house is water tight for outdoor display or, you can collect the bisque fired house and decorate at home using acrylic paints which are easy to find in shops like Hobbycraft or The Works. The choice is yours. If you wish to return for a painting session, we will charge an additional £10 studio fee to cover the glaze & second firing.

This is a really lovely project that you control from start to finish.

You may wonder why we are running Autumn & Christmas clay sessions in August! Last year we only managed to fit in one session in September as the Autumn / Winter season was so busy for us. Clay creations take time as there is at least 3 weeks needed before the making session and you being able to paint them so by runnig these sessions in August, it guarantees that your creation will be ready to display from the start of your chosen season.

A 50% deposit is required on booking with the remaining 50% payable at the session. In the event of you being unable to attend, please call the studio on 01633 406406. If we receive 48 hours notice we will do our best to find a replacement for your space and a credit note for your deposit will be issued for you to spend at rhe studio. Credit notes are valid for 3 months from the date of issue. We cannot guaranteed that your place will be filled. Please note that a credit note will not be given if your space cannot be filled. You are welcome to transfer your space to a friend or family member if you cannot attend.
